Well, got to go…I’m late for a flight. You need to be running an instance of the game for each monitor you want to power, assuming its a view of the plane or outside the plane. I can’t be the only person who noticed this or managed to do this…I’m not that smart. If someone who happens to read this had a different experience, I’d be interested in hearing from you. (Sorry Mac OSX users, I have no way to test the software for it, I don’t have a machine that runs Mac OSX) I’ve tried the Windows and Linux version and the software seems to behave the same on both and looks the same too. One last thing about X-Plane 10 Global, it works on three major platforms: Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. Keep in mind English isn’t my first language so maybe it wasn’t the best written email but still, I gave up asking the same question in different ways – I kind of felt like the person at the other end either didn’t understand what I was trying to find out or simply didn’t care.Īnyway, to this point, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but it looks like I have found a way to somehow get around the SafeNet HASP USB key protection…not that I wanted to do that but nonetheless, it seems to be what I was able to do…in a somewhat incompetent kind of way. I tried to ask my question a couple of different ways and every time I got an answer, I felt like I was exasperating the person at the other end. I proceeded to email tech support to find out what I was doing wrong and I don’t know if I didn’t ask my question right but I kept being told that the key or DVD was required to unlock all features. When I eventually realized what was happening, I was surprised to find that the software didn’t seem to care that the key was not there nor the DVD in the DVD drive… At first, I did not realize that this is what was happening…everything still worked and I can assure you that the DVDs were securely put away. Where this gets twisted is that without realizing it, I started X-Plane 10 on my desktop WITHOUT the USB key in it. Having a laptop and a desktop, I wanted to try the X-Plane 10 on my laptop and therefore moved the USB key to it. Well, originally, I put the key in a left it there thinking that everything was working as expected. HASP Key) is needed to play if you don’t want to have to leave the first DVD in the DVD drive all the time. The website says that the USB key (a SafeNet Inc. When i tried to do the install, it wanted the first DVD in a drive somewhere so I mounted the DVD 1 image using Virtual CloneDrive and away it went. Since my DVD drive was nowhere to be seen in Windows, I made ISO images (for backup purposes) and installed from that by mounting them locally and extracting the content to a folder. The software promptly arrived a few weeks later and I was impressed by the amount of data on the 8 dual layered DVD…yes, you read that right, 8 DVD of 7+ GB. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not – tried to figure out the problem for months and I’m not closer to a solution so I normally share a drive of find some other way. dollars – multiply by 1.07 for Canadian dollars – exchange rates vary from day to day so go to if you want more accurate conversion for your currency of choice) to be able to play without the DVD 1 in the drive at all time.My PC has an issue with the Bluray Drive in it. Without further reflection, I decided to spring the 59.99$ plus the 29.99$ for the USB key (all prices are in U.S. (It has to do with the way they simulate the forces on the plane) The quality of the product was impressive and the realism, from what I gathered through research on the web, was much better than MS FSX. I got to the X-Plane website and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. Recently, I stumbled upon my Saitek X52 FCS and decided to Google a good flight simulator for it. I couldn’t find what the problem was and after trying various things, I didn’t have the patience anymore. I use to be a big fan of Microsoft Flight Simulator but for some reason, it wouldn’t run on my Windows 7 box and I gave up on it. I just discovered X-Plane 10 Global simulator.
